Renewable Energy Futures
Public event series
CLEANaS the Clean Energy Association of Newcastle and Surrounds
CLEANaS is your local champion of renewable energy.
In 2016, we have the ambitious plan getting local communities to invest in exciting renewable energy
projects, like solar panels on public buildings. This is part of our Lighthouse Community Energy project. To
share our vision as well as information about renewable energy, we’re hosting a public event series
throughout March and April 2016.
Each event is presented by industry experts who will share their passion and experience to help you
individuals, households and local businesses, to understand how renewable energy can help you to save
on your power bills as well as reduce your carbon footprint.
Come to one or all of these FREE events everyone is welcome.

Solar power and battery storage, what it means for Hunter rooftops
Harnessing power from the sun is becoming easier as the price of solar panels drops and new battery storage comes onto the market. Industry professionals, Energus, will discuss how this new technology can be used to reduce your carbon footprint and your power bills something CLEANaS is hoping to achieve for local community organisations as part of their Lighthouse project.
Wednesday 2 March, West Wallsend Workers Club Auditorium. 6pm for 6.30
Green Bonds, a new approach to financing
Green Bonds are being used to fund largescale renewable energy projects around the globe. Can the same scheme be used to fund smallscale community projects locally?
Rob Fowler, of the Climate Bonds Initiative , will present how CBI are sizing the Climate Bond landscape, developing trusted standards, and providing policy models and advice between government, finance and industry stakeholders.
Come along and be part of the discussion to assess the viability of a pilot a scheme here in Newcastle.
Wednesday 9 March, University House, room UNH240, King Street Newcastle. 6pm for 6.30
We thank Hunter United and The Tom Farrell Institute for supporting this CLEANaS event.
